With great anticipation, we arrived at Ryokan Sanga, tucked in the serene Kurokawa Onsen district. A short drive from the bustling JR Aso Station, this charming ryokan greeted us with a blend of modern amenities and traditional Japanese hospitality. Each room, featuring tatami flooring and futon bedding, exuded a sense of tranquility, allowing us to fully unwind and immerse ourselves in the peaceful surroundings. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the lavish Japanese multi-course dinner, a culinary masterpiece showcasing local beef steak that left our taste buds in awe. Our evenings were spent relaxing in the private onsen in our room, providing a moment of pure bliss amidst the soothing hot spring waters. Although we missed out on the private baths due to prior bookings, the communal hot spring bath overlooking a gentle stream offered a rejuvenating experience, enhanced by the tranquil ambiance of the natural surroundings. the cosy lobby lounge, complete with a fireplace and free Wi-Fi, served as a welcoming retreat where we could unwind after a day of exploration. As a culinary critic with a profound love for Japanese cuisine, Ryokan Sanga exceeded my expectations, delivering a harmonious blend of luxury, comfort, and culinary excellence.
